Da mesi il nostro governo ottimista ci ammannisce la favoletta, l’ennesima, che la crisi è dietro le spalle; per questo basta vivere nel mondo reale e la storia è breve.

Ma poi c’è l’altra bella favoletta per bimbi non troppo svelti che “stiamo uscendo dalla crisi meglio degli altri”.

Russia, Pakistan, Niger, India, Europe… Heaven knows whether the effects of climate change are here to be seen or not.

Tutti a stracciarsi le vesti in questi giorni nei quali la maggior impresa privata italiana (lo è ancora?) ha deciso di sputare sui decenni di aiuti pubblici, pagati con le nostre tasse e il sudore della fronte dei lavoratori - e di molti piccoli e medi imprenditori italiani, per farsi gli affari suoi andando a prendere altri soldi pubblici (della BEI e del Governo serbo) per fare automobili nella Repubblica di Belgrado.

It’s news of today that India has accepted to stay silent about human rights violations in Burma while the military Junta top brass is visiting the Country.
With an admirable stone face the generals have even gone to Bodhgaya, where the Sakyamuni Buddha reached the illumination; how on Earth can they consider themselves followers of the Buddha, I wonder.
But the question is: would Gandhi, the Mahatma called “father of the Nation of India”, have stayed silent in the face of so much untruth, as he would have called it?

I have seldom be so disappointed in being right.
But the news coming in today from US Senate confirm that nobody (at least nobody in the steering position) has felt any hint that it might be time to do something for the goodness of the environment.

Ok, it’s a tragedy the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. We know all about caps, funneling, leakages and relief wells.
We have all seen people who were getting their business affected by the environmental disaster.
Everybody complained about the economical aspects of the spill; someone shed tears about the poor pelicans and other wildlife affected by it.
But I wonder…

In questi giorni ho letto di un intervento del vicesegretario del PD il quale chiedeva, se il Governo italiano non ce la fa a stare insieme e fare il suo mestiere, di passare la palla al Quirinale poiché “in questo momento di crisi economica” non si può non governarla con competenza ed efficienza.
Per carità, mica che voglia iscrivermi tra quanti si sono voluti illudere che non vi fosse - non vi sia - una crisi economica di proporzioni planetarie in corso!

Strano, mi sono detto: e noi che pensavamo che il problema principale di questo nostro Paese fossero la difficoltà con cui molte persone riescono a mettere insieme il pranzo e la cena, i milioni di giovani senza prospettive di vita soddisfacente, la diffusione di una frustrazione generalizzata che sgretola di giorno in giorno la casa comune della convivenza civile.
Invece no!
